In celebration of the 2015 World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (WTISD 2015) and in commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the International Telecommunication Union, China will launch a series of symposiums and activities on the topic “Telecommunications and ICTs: Drivers of innovation”– the theme of ITU’s WTISD 2015– in a bid to improve public understanding of the ITU and its important role. The activities mainly include: 1. The 150th Anniversary of the ITU and WTISD 2015 Conference, which will be held on May 15th 2015 in Beijing. 2. Setting up technical innovation experience and demonstration area outside the venue of The 150th Anniversary of the ITU and WTISD 2015 Conference to showcase the outcomes of ICT-driven social innovation and IT application in industrialization. The demonstration includes two parts – new industrial products and innovations of university students. 3. Photo Exhibition featuring the 150th anniversary of the ITU. 4. Compiling an album in commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the ITU. 5. Online quiz show featuring the 150th anniversary of the ITU through WeChat platform.
