Description: Exhibition on the historical importance of submarine cables in the global network of communications.
By crossing the “arc of time”, this exhibition aims at presenting to the public the historic aspects as well as a perspective for the future, in particular:
• The role played by submarine cables in the international communications
• The close relation between the development of submarine cables and the expansion of broadband Internet
• The role of Portugal in the global network of submarine cables
• Showcasing the state-of-the-art in the investigation and in the industry of optical communications and, in particular, of the submarine cables

This exhibition will be open to the public until 30 april 2016 in  Fundação Portuguesa das Comunicações (Portuguese Foundation for Communications), Rua do Instituto Industrial 16, 1200-225 Lisboa
