World Radio Day

World Radio day (WRD) marks the anniversary of the first broadcast by UN Radio in 1946. WRD seeks to raise awareness about the importance of radio, facilitate access to information through radio and enhance networking among broadcasters.

Description: World Radio day (WRD) marks the anniversary of the first broadcast by UN Radio in 1946. WRD seeks to raise awareness about the importance of radio, facilitate access to information through radio and enhance networking among broadcasters. The theme of WRD’15 is Youth and Innovation in Radio which is in line with ITU’s 150th Anniversary celebrations. WRD’’5 will involves a range of activities such as an EBU Radiohack and WRD Radio broadcast goes LIVE with time signal and BBC news.
